Victoria Falls and Sussi + Chuma Retreat

On our fourth day we flew from Mufwe to Livingstone, near Victoria Falls, which is one of the natural wonders of the world. Our Sanctuary lodge here for two nights was Sussi + Chuma, named after David Livingstone’s faithful friends. The lodge is located within the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. The guest rooms consist of tree-houses build on stilts into the living canopy of giant ebony trees that line the Zambezi riverbank.

While in this location we visited Victoria Falls, which are very impressive even at the height of the dry season.

After seeing Victoria Falls in the morning, we took a walking safari to see (up close) eight white Rhino in the wild that are guarded 24 hours a day against poachers.  These are the only white Rhino in all of Zambia.

  1. Wow. Those pictures are really wonderful. Love the tree houses, the falls and the rhinos. I trust that the two of you are having a good time on HA.
